In view of the increasing demand for electric vehicles in India, many auto companies have launched electric vehicles. All the big auto companies like Bajaj, Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Mahindra have launched their electric vehicles in India. Apart from these, companies like Suzuki, Honda have also announced their entry into this field.
Looking at the bright future of electric vehicles in India, now Italian big company Piaggio will launch an electric scooter in India.
Piaggio will launch this electric scooter through the Vespa brand. Vespa had confirmed in 2020 itself that it would launch an electric vehicle in India. The Piaggio Group is the parent company of Vespa and Aprilia. For its new electric scooter, the Piaggio Group will set up an ecosystem of electric vehicles in India, which will work without government subsidies.
In India, the central and various state governments have given many incentives/subsidies on the purchase of electric vehicles, due to which their sales have increased manifold. These incentives/subsidies bring down the cost of electric vehicles by up to 40%. But Piaggio Group does not want to launch an electric vehicle based on subsidy. It is the effort of this group that its electric vehicles can be sold in good numbers in India even without subsidy.
Piaggio Group company Vespa showed a glimpse of the electric scooter Elettrica at the Auto Expo 2020. It is expected that Vespa will launch an electric scooter according to the needs of the Indian market.
The launch of this new electric scooter will enable Vespa and eventually the Piaggio Group to enter India’s lucrative electric vehicles industry. Consumers will also get an electric scooter from a good company, which they will be able to adapt with confidence. This will also help a lot in the promotion of electric vehicles in India.
