Keeping in view the development of electric passenger vehicles, Kia Motors may launch its electric crossover vehicle EV6 in India. In this direction, the company has registered 5 trademarks namely EV6, EV6 Earth, EV6 Water, EV6 Air, and EV6. The company may import this car through Completely Built-Up (CBU) mode in India.
Kia Motors can launch this electric crossover in India in 4 variants – Earth, Water, Air, and Light. In the international market, the company sells its crossover vehicle in 3 variants only. The basic model of this electric car of the company can be priced around Rs 31 lakh in India.
The electric crossover EV6 from Kia Motors is based on the company’s E-GMP platform. The company has developed this platform, especially for electric vehicles and in future the company can launch more electric vehicles based on this platform.
The basic model of the EV6 crossover electric vehicle is powered by a 58 kWh battery that powers a rear motor. This motor produces 167 bhp of power and 349 Nm of torque so that the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8 seconds. According to the company, this electric crossover has a top speed of 185 kmph and has a range of 373 km.
