The company will launch this electric bike Del Mar under its LiveWire brand by June 2022. The company will make this new electric bike on a new platform. This electric bike will be from the middleweight segment.
Harley Davidson company will make this electric bike with aero architecture. Arrow architecture is a combination of the most important parts of an electric vehicle which includes the battery, inverter, charger, speed controller, and motor.
The company can launch different models in the future using this new architecture. In this new architecture, the company will use 21,700 different types of cylindrical cells, which is a new format of lithium-ion cell size. This new format has also been adopted by Tesla, Samsung, and LG. By using its new Aero architecture in other electric bikes, the company can reduce its price.
Harley Davidson’s LiveWire brand has entered into an agreement with Taiwan’s largest electric scooter manufacturer Kymco. Under this agreement, Kymco will make new vehicles using the new architecture of Harley Davidson.
With the launch of this new electric bike Del Mar, Harley Davidson is likely to target the consumers in India, who prefer cheap and affordable electric bikes.
